Exposure to EDCs like BPA, dioxins, phthalates and parabens alter certain microRNAs in maternal serum. BPA and phthalates alter placental microRNAs and induce epigenetic modifications such as histone methylation, histone acetylation, and DNA methylation, thereby having a transgenerational impact.
