the enterohepatic circulation of BAs. Initially, primary BAs synthesized in the liver are stored in the gallbladder with the assistance of BSEP and MRP2. In the distal ileum, roughly 95% of intestinal BAs are actively reabsorbed through ASBT and MRP3. Bile acids, facilitated by IABP, traverse intestinal cells and then enter the portal circulation via OST α/OST β.
