Immunofluorescence microscopy of cytochrome c oxidase (CCO). Liver tissues obtained after 6-month treatment with vehicle or metformin were stained with anti-CCO (green). The CCO staining was weak and uniform in Zucker lean rats, whereas Zucker diabetic fatty rats showed patched of strong CCO reactivity.
