Relationship between changes in serum uric acid and follow-up HbA1c in women categorized by baseline serum uric acid. In the 1st tertile of baseline SUA among women (< 4.0 mg/dL), changes in SUA was significantly correlated with HbA1c over the 11-year follow-up (r = 0.247, p = 0.004), but not significantly correlated in the 2nd and 3rd tertiles of baseline SUA (≥ 4.0 mg/dL) (r = 0.070, p = 0.262). Analysis of covariance showed that two regression lines in each graph were significantly different (F = 4.698, p = 0.031)
