The Kaplan–Meier event rate for the primary composite outcome at 8 years was 30.2% in the statin group compared with 25.2% in the non-statin group (HR, .98; 95% CI .76–1.27), but the risk of non-fatal ischemic stroke was lower in the statin group (5.9%) than that in the non-statin group (7.5%) (HR, .58; 95% CI .35–.98)
