  1. Asian criteria of abdominal obesity, waist circumference ≥90 cm for men and ≥ 80 cm for women
  2. High blood pressure, systolic blood pressure ≥130 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥85 mmHg and/or medication for hypertension
  3. High fasting plasma glucose, fasting plasma glucose ≥100 mg/dl; high triglycerides, triglycerides ≥150 mg/dl; Low HDL-C, HDL cholesterol <40 mg/dl for men and <50 mg/dl for women
  4. Continuous variables are expressed as means ± SD or medians (range)
