IRAK-1 adipose tissue protein expression is also higher in non-diabetic or diabetic obese individuals. The IRAK-1 protein expression in the subcutaneous adipose tissues of 5 non-diabetic individuals was detected by immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescent staining, and in 3 diabetic individuals by immunohistochemistry as described in “Patients and methods”. The representative photomicrographs show higher IRAK-1 expression (arrows) in the adipose tissues of obese non-diabetic individuals using ac immunohistochemistry (×100 magnification) and df immunofluorescent staining (×40 magnification). The higher IRAK-1 adipose tissue expression (arrows) in obese diabetic individuals is shown (gi) by using immunohistochemistry (×100 magnification)
