Metformin modulates LPS-induced adipocytokine expression. Human subcutaneous preadipocyte-derived adipocytes were pre-incubated for 1 h with 1 mM metformin followed by stimulation with 100 ng/ml LPS for 24 h. mRNA expression of IL-6 (A) and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL1RA) (B) were analysed by quantitative real-time PCR.
